“Words Connect Us”

A free-lance editor, I also serve as an official editor for the Florida Writers Association, as a staff editor for Zebra Communications Atlanta, and have been invited to serve as a writer and editor for NASA’s Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.

I specialize in working with first-time authors, using my strong language skills to assure an interesting, well-crafted product for my authors.

I encourage both aspiring and published writers to develop their understanding and use of language–much under assault in recent years. Poor grammar and poor expression spread quickly in our culture by way of television sitcoms–and in some news programs and documentaries.

Through editing and tutoring, using the literary world’s “bible,” the Chicago Manual of Style, I serve as a Book Doctor to help writers, speakers, and students improve their communication skills.

Contact me about your literary needs. To get acquainted, I am pleased to offer a complimentary edit of four pages.

Writers Helping Writers

Florida Writers Association

A letter from the FWA Director Emerita, Chrissy Jackson:

Writing is a journey best shared with others. We all need help along the way—be it with a contrary muse, pesky editing, or getting publishing.

Our motto at Florida Writers Association is Writers Helping Writers,

and we take it seriously!

We urge all writers to join . . . no matter whether you’re just starting, have finished a novel, or have been published. You’re invited to experience the member benefits of social networking on the free FWA Network site, attend the annual conference, receive our quarterly magazine and our monthly eNewsletter, and enter our writing contests.

Find a Writers Group near you (there are over thirty around the state and in North Carolina) and attend monthly meetings and Critique Group

meetings. You can strengthen your writing, publish, and get paid.

It all starts here. . . we can help.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Florida Writers Association

(over 1,000 members and growing).
